Anil Kapoor Tells Nana Patekar To Control His Anger Issues Or Else No One Will Work With Him; ‘Tu Aisa Nahi Hai…’

Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar recently got together to promote Vanvaas and spoke about Patekar’s anger management issues. Anil was heard telling the older actor that his anger issues have led several filmmakers to avoid working with him and to top that off he pointed out that Oatekar doesn’t even attend any Bollywood parties.

Patekar replied and said, “Why do I need to go to a party to have a drink? I can do that at home. Plus, that’s where you run into horrible people who say horrible things to you and put you in a bad mood. And I’m the kind of person who wouldn’t think twice before giving them two whacks.”

Anil then went onto to ask Nana when his anger issues started, to which Nana replied, “It’s not about anger. If someone misbehaves with you, of course he’s going to get it.” Anil said ,“Har aadmi ko thodi maarna hota hai yaar, pyaar se bhi samjha sakta hai.” Nana hilariously replied, “He first has to be in a state to receive love. If he’s drunk out of his mind, what love will he receive?”

Anil then urged Nana to change his personality and said, “Thoda image change kar yaar. Tu hai nahi aisa toh kyu aisa karta hai? Mujhe maalum hai na tu nahi hai aisa (You need to change your image. You aren’t really like this, I know it).”

In the same interaction, Nana Patekar confronted Anil Kapoor and said, “You bullied me so much during Parinda. Let me tell you, I was going to play the brother’s role in the film. We’d even done rehearsals. Jackie was hired later, because of Anil.”

Anil defended himself and said, ‘You’ll be surprised, I was the casting director on the film Hum Paanch… I have done a bunch of odd jobs. I was in production, I was in casting, I would escort stars to set… I would tail Naseeruddin Shah. I’ve done it all. I had a huge role to play in the casting for Hum Paanch. I might be wrong, but I felt that for my brother’s role in Parinda, Jackie would be the best choice. I’m being very honest with you.”

Nana quickly retorted and said, “Because of your honesty, I lost the role. You realise I didn’t work with you for 19 years after that? I thought, ‘Yeh toh bada bakwaas aadmi hai yaar (He’s a terrible guy)”. Anil apologized and tried to explain as he said, “It was nothing against you. I merely made a suggestion to the director, and the final decision was his. Remember this. These people fire off the shoulders of heroes.” Nana dismissed this excuse, and said, “But you were the star, of course he’d listen to you.”
